Mrs. Margie (Brown) Mckinney Ballard went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 21st, 2021. She was born December 27th, 1927, to Joseph Henry Brown and Bessie Marie Brown (Thompson). She was born and raised in the Gumlog Community and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, seamstress, and above all a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband Sim had many wonderful years making music and singing. They had their own record label, produced a TV show featuring gospel music and beautiful scenery throughout the North Georgia Mountains. The highlight of their musical journey took them to Nashville where they performed on the Grand Ole Gospel Hour on the stage of The Grand Ole Opry, and the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Willis Wayne Mckinney, second husband Simmie (Sim) Clay Ballard, son Terry Michael Mckinney, brothers Grady Brown, Clifford Brown, and Gary Brown.
She is survived by her son Jimmy Wayne Mckinney, along with her five grandchildren, Julie Spears (Sanford), Rachael Meggitt (Jake), Anita Scandrett (Bill), Amy Cantrell (Tad), and Jimmy Wayne Mckinney Jr. (Michelle). She is also survived by her daughter in law, best friend, and mother of her grandchildren Linda Mckinney Sutton. She was blessed with 13 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include, Bill Brown (Margie), Sandra Jean Anderson, Maudine Goodwin (Jimmy), Claudine McClure (Ed), Doyle Brown (Karen). She has several other extended family members as well.

Visitation: Monday, August 23, 2021 in the chapel of Banister-Cooper Funeral Home 12:00-2:00
