Betty Troy

Betty Ruth Troy, age 71, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away Monday, August 9, 2021.  In her life, she was a Loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar Lee and Ellen Way, husband John Robert Troy, sisters Barbara Poole, Linda Hitt, and brother Jimmy William Poole.
She is survived by her sons: Lee Troy and wife Dee, and Jimmy Poole.  Daughters:  Kellie and husband Chis Wickizer, Barbie and husband Jorge Barco, Winona Sisson, Melissa and husband James Shoffner, Pixie Hitt.  And, her brother Pastor Ron Hitt.  Grandchildren:  Winnie, Mary, Emily, Noah, Chantal, Jessie, Dustin, Booklyn, Cheyenne, William, Lance, Jorgito, Chrifor, and Juan.  Great-grandchildren:  Jackson, Johnathan, Connor, Tulsan, and Cali.
Betty's faithfulness in Christ helped her fight many health issues.  She would say, "I take a lot of lickings, but I keep on ticking."
Proverbs 31: 25-31
"Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.  She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.  Her children arise up, and call her blessed;  her husband also, and he praiseth her.  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.  Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.  Give her of the fruit her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."
Visitation will be Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be at Holly Hill Cemetery and will be officiated by Brother Johnnie Osborne.
