William J Pierson Sr.

William J. Pierson Sr. of Hiawassee passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and lived in Florida before moving to Hiawassee 15 years ago. He was a Navy veteran who spent 4 years in the Philippines. He retired from the steel and trucking business. William was married to the late Carolyn Pierson for 54 years. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by daughter Donna More of Flat Rock, NC; son and daughter-in-law William "Bill" Jr and Jaime of Hiawassee; granddaughter Morgan Pierson; grandson Mason Pierson; sister Patricia Monahan of Ft Myers Fl; brother James Pearson of North Arlington NJ; brother-in-law James Toncos of Hiawassee and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be deeply missed.
