Wayne Garrett

Mr. Wayne Garrett, age 78 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on December 14, 2012 following a brief illness. He was born to the late Henry and Margie (Hollifield) Garrett on November 10, 1934 in Hiawassee, GA. He was preceded in death by two brothers. He was Towns County Probate Judge for many years and also served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby (Southers) Garrett, of Hiawassee, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Cecil Whitehead, of Valdosta, GA; one son, Chris Garrett, of Hiawassee, GA; six brothers, John Garrett, Merle Garrett, Roger Garrett, Duard Garrett, Elgin Garrett, Larry Garrett; two sisters, Erma Selman, Sharon Hill; two grandchildren, one great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. A private family graveside service on December 17, 2012 was held with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
