Wallace Rood

Rood, Wallace (Wally), age 87, passed away peacefully on 12-4-2015 at Brasstown Manor in Hiawassee, GA.

His wife, Iva Shephard Rood, passed earlier in May, 2013. They were married for 67 years.

Wally was born and married in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He and Iva lived their last 20 years in Hayesville, N.Carolina.

They are survived by their 4 children: Jack Rood and his wife Cathy, Jill Rood Hutchins and her husband Fred, Les Rood and his wife Claudia, and Dr. Lionel Rood.

Wally and Iva have 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way.

Wally was an avid pilot and loved giving his family airplane rides. He was truly a positive influence on his grandchildren and enjoyed saying, "you're not completely dressed without a smile."
