Vanessa Kay Fernald

Vanessa Kay Fernald, age 60 of Young Harris, Georgia, passed away on April 1, 2024.  She was born on May 15, 1963, to Charlie and Lena (Lindsey) Edwards in Mobile, Alabama.  Vanessa’s love for God and Jesus was evident as she shared that love with everyone she met.  If you spent time with Vanessa, you would leave feeling loved, prayed for and fed.  Her love of God, Bruce and their children was the foundation of the life they built together.  She was extremely active in every church she attended and spent many years serving in prayer ministries.  In her spare time, Vanessa enjoyed working in her garden, decorating, and “Glamping” in their 5^th wheel RV.   Vanessa left an imprint on life and her friends that will be difficult to replace. 

Vanessa is preceded in death by her brothers Bobby and Rodney Edwards and sister Debbie Edwards. She leaves behind her parents, Charlie and Lena Edwards; husband Bruce Fernald; sons and daughters-in-law Bradley and Adrian, Jonathan and Courtney, Tanner and Claudia; brother Michael Edwards; and grandchildren Gabriella and Sebastian Fernald. 

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Fellowship of the Hills Church in Blairsville at 1:00PM with Pastor Marty Duncan officiating.

Burial will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 1:00PM.
