Troy Garnett Spivey

Mr. Troy Garnett Spivey, age 96 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012. He was born to the late Brabston and Savannah (Maney) Spivey on June 23, 1915 in Hayesville, NC. He is survived by step-son-Chester White, of Hiawassee, GA; daughters, Myra Beam, of Hartsville, SC; Faye Dellinger, of Gastonia, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Nelson and Rhonda Spivey Sr., of Supply, NC; brothers, Willard Spivey, of Gastonia, NC; Oliver Spivey, of Dallas, NC; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family received friends at Banister Funeral Home from 6-9PM on Friday, January 20, 2012. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:00AM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Curt Ledford officiating. Music was provided by Family Circle. Pallbearers were: Rob Burch, Elton Moss, Steve Ledford, Nathan Noblet, Larry Ledford and Cline Parker. Honorary pallbearers were: Dylan White, Stacy White, Clevey White and Chester White. Interment was in Mt Zion Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
