Stanley Woodfin Wood

Stanley Woodfin Wood, age 72, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 following a brief illness. He was born on March 27, 1944 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late W.B. and Floy (Presley) Wood. He is survived by his wife, Karen Wood; sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Spring Wood of Hiawassee, Sherman Wood of Hiawassee, Shenar and Isabel Wood of Charlotte, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Sonya and Nat Handcock; nine grandchildren; one niece, one nephew and many family and friends also survive. 

Visitation: Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Banister Funeral Home

Service: Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford and Rev. Bradley Thomas officiating. Music provided by Shylan Wood, Samantha Wood and Bobby Taylor.

Interment: Following Funeral Service at Macedonia Cemetery

Pallbearers: Samuel Wood, Shylan Wood, Tyler Wood, Doug Chastain, L.G. Taylor, Mark Neal
