Shawn Mulkey

Mr. William Shawn Mulkey, age 37, of Young Harris, Georgia passed away on July 27, 2017 at Erlanger Hospital following a brief illness. Shawn was born in Hiawassee, Georgia on March 17, 1980 to Jimmy and the late Melba (Hedden) Mulkey. Shawn loved spending time with his family. He was a loving father, brother and uncle. He enjoyed youth football and racing. He is survived by his father, Jimmy Mulkey; daughter, Kaylee Mulkey; son, Keaton “Bubba” Mulkey; fiancé, Lisa Gibson and her son, Micah Gibson; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Lynn Mulkey; sister, Peggy Mulkey; nephews, Tyler Mulkey, Ethan Mulkey, Kyle Oakes, Garrett Oakes; niece, Madison Mulkey; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends also survive. 

Visitation: Sunday, July 30, 2017 from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home from 12:00 to 4:00 PM

Service: Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating and special speaker Royce Nicholson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Banister Funeral Home to help defray expenses. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
