Ruth C Guthridge

Ruth Guthridge, age 86, of Hiawassee passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. Ruth was born October 27, 1939 in Chicago, Ill. to Burton and Katherine Clement from Flossmoor, Ill.

Ruth was a long-time member of McConnell Memorial Baptist church. At church, Ruth loved attending Bible study (Encouragers) and served as their treasurer. Ruth also loved arts and crafts, such as sewing, machine embroidering, and cross stitch. Her love for sewing came as a child where she learned under her Mother's watchful eye. Ruthie moved from Lander Wyoming to Young Harris after her husband Ray passed and so she could be close to her, sister Marilyn. Ruth and Marilyn enjoyed traveling together visiting family and friends. Ruth began working at Artworks and was a member of the Guild. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Guthridge; parents, Burton and Katherine; brother, Robert Clement, and sister, Marilyn Bostrom. She is survived by her nephews; Harry Douglas Bostrom (significant other Deb), Dean Bostrom (wife Tracy), Darwin Bostrom (wife Terri), nieces, Lynn Barrett (husband Mike), Katrina Keppler and Danielle Clement. May she rest in peace
