Robert N Hodnett Sr.

Mr. Robert N. Hodnett, Sr. age 72 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 04, 2011 following a period of declining health. He was born to the late Bruston Lovell and Louise DeBrosse (Ellis) Hodnett on June 26, 1938 in New Bern, NC. He was a dedicated serviceman in the U.S. Air Force for twenty-three years, he then retired and was a successful entrepreneur of Roberts Hauling, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. He is preceded in death by his step-son John A. Nicholson, sister, Betty Hodnett Beaman; and two brothers, Harold Bruce Hodnett, and Ronald Neal Hodnett. He is survived by his step-son, Joel H. Nicholson, of Hiawassee, GA; son, Robert N. Hodnett, Jr. of Hiawassee, GA; daughter, Nona Lynn Hodnett, of Hiawassee, GA; brothers, Donald Ray Hodnett, of Orlando, FL; Gerald Ellis Hodnett, of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Mary Ann Hodnett Bass of Raleigh, NC; Linda Louise Hodnett, of New Bern, NC; Rosamond Elaine Hodnett Jenkins, of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Robert N. Hodnett III and Zachary Nicholson; one great grandchild, Noah Nicholson; thirteen nieces and four nephews also survive. A beach surfside memorial service was held in Emerald Isle, NC the morning of Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00AM as well as a local memorial service Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11 AM to be held at Enotah Baptist Church on Fodder Creek in Hiawassee, GA. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee entrusted with arrangements.
