Mr. Robert Earl Bryant, Jr., known as "Bob" and "Mr. B" to his family and
friends, passed away on May 22, 2015.
Bob was born to Robert Earl Bryant Sr. and Essie Bryant on May 9, 1935 in
Smackover, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and
two sisters.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lady Kate Bryant, of Hiawassee,
Georgia. He was a wonderful father to two children, son Ray and wife Kristi of
Atlanta, Georgia, daughter Ann and husband Scott Eller of Hiawassee, Georgia,
and granddaughter Vanessa Eller of Hiawassee, Georgia.
Bob worked primarily in the restaurant industry until he retired. One of his
greatest joys was cooking and providing nourishing and flavorful meals for
students and customers at Young Harris College, Fieldstone Restaurant, Mr. B's
Cafeteria, and Unicoi State Park. He was known for his catering, creating
beautiful ice sculptures, and savory barbecue. He was a student of the Culinary
Institute of New York and earned his GED in 2001. He loved music of many genres.
He was a faithful member of the Hiawassee Church of Christ and will be loved and
remembered for many years to come.
Funeral services for Mr. Bryant were held on Sunday, May 24 at 2:00 PM at
Banister Funeral Home at 678 N. Main Street. The family received friends and
family on Saturday, May 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the same location.
