RAYMOND HIGGINSON Mr. Richard Raymond Higginson, age 69 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on March 23, 2009 in Murphy Medical Center following a period of declining health. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Raymond Higginson. He was born in Essex County, NJ on February 01, 1940. He is survived by his mother and her husband, Stella (Pudlik) Higginson Bluj and Frank Bluj, of York, SC; wife, Shirley Higginson, of Hiawassee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Renee' and Tony Ogburn, of York, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Barbara Shirley, of Hiawassee, GA; brothers and sisiters-in-law, John and Sophie Higginson, Eddie and Eva Higginson, Tommy and Beth Bluj, all of New Jersey; four grandchildren, Jim Shirley II, Jarrod Shirley, Tony Ogburn II and Troy Ogburn; one great grandchild, Jim Shirley III; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Pastor Raburne Wilson officiating. Pallbearers were: Jim Shirley II, Jarrod Shirley, Tony Ogburn II, Troy Ogburn, John Higginson and Tommy Bluj. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Higginson and Jim Shirley III. Interment was in Laurel Hills Memory Garden cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
