Ray Terrence Rogers

Mr. Ray Terrence Rogers, age 46 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his home. He was born to Ellis and the late Ruby Lee (Gibson) Rogers on June 30, 1965 in Hiawassee, GA. He was employed by Hiawassee Hardware for twenty-seven years. He was a member of Unicoy Masonic Lodge #259 and YAARAB Shriners of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by mother, Ruby Rogers; grandmother, Arka Rogers; and brother, JB McFalls. He is survived by his father, Ellis Rogers, of Hiawassee, GA; sisters, Mary Polly, of Hiawassee, GA; Wilma Cote, of Jessup, GA; Cheryl Tench, of Hiawassee, GA; and nieces and nephews also survive. The family met with friends on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 5-8PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 3:00PM from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Music was provided by Rita Hooper, Nola Jean Nichols and Teresa Gay. Pallbearers were: Gary Canup, Jennings Ivester, Earl Fain, Wallace Allen, Russell Hedden, Bryce Shook, Kerry Dills, and Mike Crisp. Honorary pallbearers were: Brad McFalls, Shorty Penland, Lynn Mauldin and the employees of Hiawassee Hardware. Interment was in Lower Hightower Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
