Randolph Harvey Malsch

Mr. Randolph Harvey Malsch, better known as Rande, age 65, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on November 21, 2018. Rande was born in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on May 4, 1953 to the late Harvey and Kathryn (West) Malsch. Preceded in death by his brother Mark Malsch. Rande served in the United States Navy for six years on the USS San Diego as a supply ship officer. After he was discharged, Rande worked as a store keeper and also was employed by a tour company. His partner, John Rapp, then hired him for the St. Petersburg school system in Florida as head of the janitorial staff. He continued working at the school for over 20 years. He and John spent 25 years traveling to spend the weekends in their mountain home where they finally retired and spent the last five years. Rande enjoyed taking his boat out on the lake, frequently taking friends along. He was a friend to everyone he met. Rande leaves behind his partner, John Rapp of Hiawassee, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Lorrie and Lorry Yanny of Lyons, Wisconsin; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. No services are planned at this time. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
