Phyllis (Drummond) Christine born June 22, 1945 to the late William Robert Drummond Sr. and Jeanne Neumuller of Phillipsburg, New Jersey left us on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She is preceded in death also by her beloved grandfather William “Pop” Rexford Drummond, her brother, William Robert “Bobby” Drummond, Jr. (d. 2002) and by her nephew, Robert Rex Drummond (d. 2020). She is survived by her Husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Christine. Also her Sister-in-Law Barbara Drummond and niece, Debra Jeanne Norton (Jody) of Young Harris, GA. Along with Phyllis’ great nephew and nieces – James W. Norton, Darby Jo Norton, and Victoria Drummond. And by her daughter, Susan (Cabrera) Crolla of Tallahassee, FL whom she was grateful to know in her adult years. In 1973, newlyweds Bill and Phyllis honeymooned in Hiawassee, GA but it wasn’t until 1988 that they joined her parents to make the town their home in the mountains that they all loved so deeply. Phyllis and Bill with their close friends founded the Revolutionary War Reenacting and Living History Unit - New Jersey Light Infantry in 1976. Sharing history was a passion of hers and she is fondly remembered as a mentor to many generations of reenactors during her nearly half a century in the hobby. Ms. Phyllis was a supreme cook, loved to read, garden, and to travel. She always enjoyed discovering new places and flavors and generally getting the most joy out of life that she could. She dedicated her life to caring for others. Her door was always open and her phone line always free for any that needed her ever-patient and wise attentions. Also left behind are those children to whom she and Bill opened their home and their hearts, their vast reenacting family, and her cats- Mr. Kitty and Midnight- most recent in a long line of felines by whom she and Bill have been adopted.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 11th with visitation starting at 1:00pm and memorial service to follow at 2:00pm.
