Patricia Swanson Berrong

Patricia “Pat” Swanson Berrong, age 77, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Pat was born to Neal and Blon (Kirby) Swanson on May 24th, 1949.

Pat was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church. She taught countless kids how to clog and lead her groups to many competitions.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Blon Swanson. Pat is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Stacey Jones of Mooresville, NC, and Angie and Jeff Penland, of Hiawassee, GA; one son, Kris Berrong of Hiawassee, GA; five grandchildren: Matthew Jones, Kirby Jones, Adam Penland, Lane Penland, and Clover Berrong; and three great-grandchildren, Kadynce, Ayvrie, and Parker Jones; and a host of in-laws, friends, and extended family who love her dearly.

Her family will remember her through the traditions she shared, the kindness she showed, and the love she poured into their lives.

A private graveside service was held to honor and celebrate Pat’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Chatuge Regional Nursing Home to help provide Christmas gifts to the residents this year.
