Ola Taylor Foster

December 11, 1929 — March 20, 2023

Gainesville

Mrs. Ola Taylor Foster, age 93, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 in Gainesville, Georgia after an extended illness. Mrs. Ola was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Byrum and Lillie Taylor in Hiawassee, Georgia on December 11,1929. She married Mr. Willis Foster in 1947 and together they had three children; she was a devoted wife, a loving and involved mother and grandmother. Mrs. Ola was a member of Lower Hightower Baptist Church for close to seventy-five years. She was a dedicated church member who spent a good portion of time serving  as the treasurer and church secretary at times. Her dedication did not end there; if someone in the community was ill she was the first to take them a full meal. When someone needed clothing hemmed or repaired, they knew Ola would take care of it for them; she even made the costumes for the church play many years.  After her husband passed she enjoyed going on vacation with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing, knitting and playing ball in the yard with her grandkids. Mrs. Ola loved Jesus, her family and her community deeply. She read her Bible and prayed every evening before bed and when someone was troubled with the weight of this world she reminded them to, "Just put it in the good hands of the Lord".

Mrs. Ola is preceded in death by her above mentioned parents; her husband, Willis Foster; siblings, Wofford, Lewis, Lon, Clara, Vera and Cora. She leaves behind her children, Glenda Barrett, Gary Foster, Sandra (Gene) Byrd; grandchildren, Jody Barrett, Lori Cunningham, Christy Wilbanks, Damaris King, Adam Foster, Daniel Foster, Anna Foster, Rebekah DeLoach, Brittany Crowe and thirteen great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
