SUBJECT: OBIT FOR: MR. NORMAN ROY BALLENTIME, SR.
Mr. Norman Roy Ballentine, Sr. age 78 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 following a period of declining health. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and great grandchild. He was born to the late William C. and Versie (Dillard) Ballentine on December 03, 1934 in Atlanta, GA. He is survived by wife, Deborah Ballentine, of Hiawassee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Norman Jr. and Connie Ballentine, of Riceville, TN; son, Ray Ballentine and Fiance’ Karen, of Johnson City, TN; son, William (Billy) Ballentine, of Madisonville, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Jerita and Gaylon Barnes, of Trinity, AL; Lillian and Carl Cristopherson, of Bethlehem, GA; Tina and Adam Langley, of Duluth, GA; one sister, Constance Corn, twenty grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nephews and one niece also survive. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:00PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Preston Moore and Rev. Mark Stewart officiating. Music was provided by the Hunter family. Pallbearers were: Norman Ballentine, Jr., Norman Ballentine III, Ray Ballentine, Billy Ballentine, Anthony “Speed” Hunter and Alden “Bounce” Hunter. Interment was in Lower Bell Creek cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
