Nina S Tipton

Mrs. Nina Sue Tipton, age 72, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 07, 2009 following a period of declining health. She was born to the late J.B. and Bonnie (Miller)Wilson on July 26, 1937 in Towns County, GA. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church since the early 1970's. She was a school teacher for the Towns County School System for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Joseph (Joe) Tipton in January 2004 and a brother, Mr. Bruce Wilson in December 1999. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Laurie Tipton, of Hartwell, GA; brother, Dwight Wilson, of Hiawassee, GA; sisters, Flora Underwood and Rachel Davenport, both of Duluth, GA; two grandchildren, Ty and Anna Tipton, both of Hartwell, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 09, 2009 at 11:00AM from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Pallbearers were: Brad Wilson, Blake Wilson, Darren Osborn, Jeff Tipton, Scott Tipton, Mark Collins, George Burnett and Dan Barnette. Music was provided by Jerry Taylor, Macedonia Baptist Church Choir and Bobby Taylor.The family request all donations be made to Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment was in Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
