Nancy JoAnne Greathouse

Nancy Joanne Greathouse, age 83, of Hayesville, North Carolina passed away at home on April 25, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy was born on November 9, 1942 to Ruth Strennen in Chillicothe, Ohio. Nancy married her beloved husband, Travis Greathouse, in 1969 and spent 57 beautiful years together. Nancy was a deeply devoted follower of the Lord and she was also an ordained minister. Nancy was Founder and President of the Women’s Aglow in North Tampa, FL. Additionally, she was Founder of a prison ministry, Freedom Ministries in Tampa, FL. Nancy was known for her feisty, fun and witty personality - she will be deeply missed by all of those who loved and knew her. Nancy is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth; granddaughter, Hannah; sons, Travis Jerry, Michael Dale; sister, Betty. She is survived by her husband, Travis Greathouse; daughters, Mary Kay (Gary) Manka, Tasha Greathouse Price; son, Steven Todd Greathouse; brother, Mike; sisters, Janet, Patty, and Nina; grandchildren, Jessica King, Grace Manka Sioulas, Faith Manka Wagner, Caleb Greathouse, Dyllan Price, and Dakoda Price. A special thank you to Sheila Gordon for her love & support for Nancy and the family during this difficult time. The family would also like to express their gratitude for the staff of Chatuge Regional Nursing Home, where Nancy received exceptional care & rehabilitation services.

 A Celebration of Life gathering will be held later this summer.
