Mona Lisa Scott

Mrs. Mona Lisa Scott, age 53 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on May 16, 2013 following a brief illness. She was born to parents A.B. and Verona (Preston) Shepherd on July 16, 1959 in Knox, ID. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a special needs paraprofessional at Towns County School for a number of years. She was excited about being a first time grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Scott, of Hiawassee, GA; parents, A.B. and Verona Shepherd, of North Judson, IN; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Blake Chastain, of Hiawassee, GA; daughters, Katie and Sara Scott, both of Hiawassee, GA; one brother, Terry Shepherd, of North Libery, IN; sisters, Denise Dunn, of North Judson, IN; Dawn Swanson, of Indianapolis, IN; and Tara Minix, of Knox, IN; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ledford and Rev. Josh Bennett officiating. Music was provided by Ryan and Julie Wilson & Michelle Rudd. Pallbearers were: Joe Thomas, David Chastain, Caleb Weaver, Eddie Palmer, Rickey Mathis and Solomon Shepherd. Honorary pallbearer was Sonny Goodman. Interment was in Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
