Millard Ross Taylor, age 73, of Hiawassee passed away Friday, February 7, 2020. Millard was born January 8, 1947 to the late Noel and Thelma (Hooper) Taylor. Millard was a retired firefighter after serving Clayton County with over 32 years of service. He loved his family, grandson, and great-grandbabies. He was a good friend to many and he never met a stranger. 
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lowell (Buck) Taylor. Millard is survived in death by his wife, Darlene (Hicks) Taylor; daughter and son-in-law, Karen (James) Abercrombie; daughter, Michelle Taylor; sister, Shelby Edwards; grandson, Zach (Adriana) Taylor; and great-grandchildren Levi and Brooklyn Taylor; brother-in-law Rickey (Helen) Hicks.
Visitation: Monday, February 10, 2020  4:00-8:00 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home
Funeral: Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Mt Zion Baptist Church at 1:00 with Rev. Jared Colemen and Jimmy Malcom
Interment: Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.
Pallbearers: Travis Gibson, Ricky Mathis, JR Chastain, Blake Taylor, Larry Ledford, James Maney
Honorary Pallbearers: Towns County Fire Department, Clayton County retired Fire Fighters, Mike Marshall, Brandon Walls, Jimmy Malcom, Chris Beck, and Michael Lovingood.
