Martha Ellen Brown

Martha Ellen Brown, age 71, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on April 6, 2017. Martha was born in Clover, SC on July 4, 1945 to the late Carlie Monroe Sr. and Mary Eva (Abernathy) Alsobrooks. Martha was an active member of Sharp United Methodist Church where she served as a chairperson on various committees and Queen Mother of the Red Hats. She was an independent and strong southern woman. She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Douglas Brown; daughter, Tiffany Brown; son, Derek Brown, brother, Bobby Alsobrooks; sister, Sylvia Mishoe; grandchildren, Cody and Jacob Jeffries; and great granddaughter, Jayden Alexa Jeffries; a number of friends also survive. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Sharp United Methodist Church with Rev. David Tinsley officiating. Music will be provided by Sharp United Methodist Church. Banister Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
