Marcia Lynn Grodi

Marcia Lynn Stoner Grodi, age 76, of Young Harris, Georgia passed away on August 9, 2026 at Chatuge Regional Hospital.

She was born on June 14,1950 in Marion, Ohio to Jesse and Marjorie Stoner. Growing up in Toledo, OH, Marcia graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1968. Later that year she married her high school sweetheart, Terry Grodi. Together they shared 58 wonderful years of love and companionship.

After moving to Ormond Beach in 1972 Marcia later attended Daytona Beach Community College (DBCC) graduating with an associates degree in early childhood development. She went on to work as a preschool educator at DBCC, The Union Church in Ormond Beach, FL and founded her own private preschool, The Children’s Workshop in Ormond Beach, Florida (1983) where she taught kindergarten for 25 Years.

Marcia was a long time member of Ormond Beach Presbyterian church and then Sharpe Memorial United Methodist Church. She was active in mission projects, outreach ministry to the community , and teaching Sunday school . She will be remembered for her kindness, patience and selflessness. She loved fiercely, gave selflessly, and always had a plan. Her faith, wisdom, strength, laughter, and unconditional love shaped so many lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse Stoner, Marjorie Stoner and her brother Charles Stoner. Marcia is survived by her husband Terry, her son Jeff Grodi (wife Carolee Grodi), and daughter Cindy DuBois, her grandchildren: Jacob DuBois, Grant Grodi, Julie Derienzo, Carter Grodi, Emilee Grodi, brother Tim Stoner, and niece Darcy Layne.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in the comings weeks at the church.
