Maggie L Wood

Mrs. Maggie Lee Wood, age 85 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 at her residence.

She was born to the late Glenn and Lola Eller Nichols on July 26, 1924 in Hiawassee. She was predeceased by her daughter Becky Cheeks.

She is survived by her husband, Pope Wood of Hiawassee; daughter, Denise Williams of Murphy, North Carolina; sons, Phillip Wood of Hiawassee and Dwight Wood of Lakeland, Florida; brother, Glenville Nichols of Clayton; sister, Weda Bryson of Clayton; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ledford and Speaker Glenville Nichols officiating. Music was provided by Glen and Shelia Eller and Stanley and Karen Wood. Pallbearers were: Rondal Wood, Andrew Wood, Joseph Wood, Kyle Wood, Auton Wood and Doc Moreland. Interment will be in Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.
