Lucius Barrett

Mr. Lucius Barrett age 80 of Young Harris, GA passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 following a period of declining health. He was preceded in death by brothers, Cline, Carl, Cecil and Claude, and a sister, Florence. He was born to the late Robert and Carrie (Bryson) Barrett on January 18, 1934 in Hiawassee, GA. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gaynell (Norton) Barrett, of Hiawassee, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Larry Lee of Brasstown, NC; sons and daughters-in law,  Terry and Marcia Barrett of Blairsville, GA; Jeff and Theresa Barrett of Gainesville, GA; sister and brother-in-law Pauline and John England; five grandchildren, Stephanie Hickox and husband Daniel, Brandon Lee and wife Ashley, Shawn Barrett and wife Tosha, Betsy and Ashley Barrett; five great grandchildren, Caleb, RileyKate, Malachi and Evie Lee and Colston Hickox. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2:00PM from the Old Brasstown Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Stiles and Rev. Glen Eller officiating. Music was provided by Joe Gray and Larry Lee. Pallbearers were: Brandon Lee, Shawn Barrett, Larry Barrett, Randy Barrett, Brent England and Ivan Nichols. Honorary Pallbearers were Ricky Barrett, Phillip Barrett and Daniel Hickox. Interment was in Old Brasstown cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
