Lillian Joan Powell

Lillian Joan Powell, age 78 of Young Harris, GA, passed away on April 26, 2015. She was born to the late James and Bonnie (Hieght) Dyer on May 15, 1936 in Hiawassee, GA. Lillian was a devoted mom and loved dirt track racing. She is survived by her children, daughters, Mary Ruth Patton, and Lisa Michele, son Tony Powell ; brothers, Bill Dyer and Alvin Dyer; sisters, Lib Brison, Molly Lewis, Frances Davis, Linda Matheson, Tim Nichols and Willibelle Plott.; grandchild Harold Patton and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Lillian was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Brison. A graveside service was held at West Union Baptist Church on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers were Gary Young, Harold Maney, Larry Maney, Gordon Shook, Michael Matheson, Bill Dyer, Alvin Dyer and Stanley Brown. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
