Kenneth Lester Moody, age 98, of Hiawassee passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Kenneth was born on April 30, 1928 to Wiley and Arizona Moody in Hiawassee, Georgia. Kenneth was a long time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where we played the bass until he was no longer able due to his health. When the music venue, The Log Cabin, was still in business, he played every Friday night. He was also a member of the original Georgia Mountain Fair staff band. He was the host of “The Crazy Cutups” radio show out of wgga in Gainesville Ga in the early '50's. As an avid outdoorsman, Kenneth’s favorite pastimes were camping, hunting and fishing. Kenneth will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and local mountain community. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Arizona; wife, Mildred Queen Moody; and siblings, Hazel, Ray, Edna, Harlie, Gilmer, Francis, Voyde, Dwight, Danny, Ethelene, and Thelma. He is survived by his son, Mark Moody (Karen); daughter, Anita Youngblood (Denis), and grandchildren, Jeffery Youngblood, Andrew Moody, Oliva Moody, and great-grandchildren; Tracen Verrill and Brenleigh Verrill. 

Visitation: Monday, July 13, 2026 12:00-2:00 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church

Funeral: Monday, July 13, 2026 at 2:00 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev, Anthony Dye
