John Roy Vercher

John "Roy" Vercher, age 78 of Young Harris, GA passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021. Roy was born September 5, 1942 in Louisiana to the late James and Lillie Vercher. 
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Murrell Vercher, Jim Vercher, Troy Vercher; sister, Betty Collins. He is survived in death by his wife, Pat Vercher; daughter, Phyllis Marie Crochet; sons, Ronald Vercher, John Vercher; sister, Pearl Sims; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Roy loved his church, he attended North Mt. Zion Church of God for over 20 years. He was a jack of all trades, loved Elvis, and was an excellent short order cook for Huddle House for many years and also owned and ran Hungry House with his wife Pat for 18 years.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Roy.
Banister-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Vercher.
