Joel Howard Nicholson

Joel Howard Nicholson, age 64, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025. He was born on July 20, 1960. Joel was a talented carpenter and worked in construction most of his adult life building many homes over the years. He was a hunter and avid reader. He was known as a honest, kind, friendly man who will be missed.

Joel is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Betty Bowers and Robert Hodnett; father, Reuben Nicholson; and brother, John Nicholson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Zachary and Rachel Nicholson; brother, Robby Hodnett; sister, Nona Hodnett; grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Nicholson; along with a number of extended family and friends.

To honor Joel’s wishes the family will have a small private memorial.
