J.O. Puett

J. O. Puett, age 83 of Gainesville formerly of Young Harris, Georgia passed away on September 16, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He was born on August 09,1938 in Young Harris, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Oran and Louise (Marshall) Puett. He was a member of Old Brasstown Baptist Church and attended Mossy Creek Baptist Church in Cleveland, Georgia. He was a 1957 graduate of Towns County Schools and went on to serve his country in the United States Army for three years in Germany in a Medical Unit. He was passionate about his heirloom garden; keeping it well maintained. He never met a stranger and loved talking to people. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Annette Hall Puett and his above mentioned parents. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Ray; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Carolyn Puett of Gainesville, Eddie and Stacie Ray of Gainesville; brother and wife, Dennis and Phyllis Puett of Marietta; sister and brother-in-law, Lennie and Ken Reaves of Smyrna; grandchildren, Jennifer Puett, Jasmine (Carson) Ricketts, Justine (Brandon) Rogers, Jacob Peutt, Junior Puett, and Katlyn Ray; one great grandchild, Bodhi; and a number of extended family and friends.

Visitation: Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 PM

Service: Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home at 3:00 PM

Interment: Old Union Cemetery following the service
