Jean(John) Louis Drouault

Mr. Jean (John) Louis Drouault, age 74, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 following an extended illness. John was born on July 13, 1945 to the late Henri and Eileen (Mulford) Drouault in Portuguese, East Africa. When asked where he was from, John would simply reply the “third planet from the sun”. He lived in many places throughout his life from Africa to Canada. He was a hardworking, gentle and kind man. A man that once people met him, they would leave talking about him . He enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially close with his dog, Zoey. John was a traveller, he spent a number of vacations on cruises. His work took him to Russia, New Zealand, Spain and Venezuela. He also enjoyed his downtime and was a movie buff. John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny Drouault. He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Taylor Drouault; step-mother, Mirette Drouault; daughter, Eva Fritchey; sons, Dave Drouault, Neal Stamey, and Josh Stamey; brother, Jean Pierre Drouault; sisters, Dianne Claire Drouault and Michelle Stilwell; grandchildren, Taylor and Camden Drouault and Madeline and Caroline Stamey; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive. There are no services planned at this time. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
