Mrs. Janice Lillian Rogers, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 13, 2026. She was born to the late Harold and Ruby Wooten McClain in Clarkesville, Georgia, on December 2, 1941.

Janice had been a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church since 1963, where she lovingly ministered to the youth of the church and community. She loved to cook and used that gift to prepare meals for countless church gatherings and special occasions. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her garden, camping, and fishing. Janice worked in the cafeteria at Towns County Schools for twenty-four years, further expanding the positive impact she had on the youth of the county.

Janice was also a devoted Georgia Bulldog fan. She watched every game she could, knew the quarterbacks as well as many of the other players, and remained a loyal supporter through every win and loss. Even when the team was having bad luck or making questionable play calls (according to Janice), she never stopped cheering them on.

Janice will be greatly missed by her family, friends, church family, and community. She touched the lives of so many with her gentle spirit and kind, loving heart. God truly blessed the lives of many by allowing Janice to be a part of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruby Wooten McClain; her husband, Harold Rogers; and her brother, Jerel McClain.

She is survived by her siblings, James McClain of Dahlonega, Jerry McClain of Elberton, June Waters of Clarkesville, and Joan Key of Clarkesville. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Jarrard, Rev. Bradley Thomas, and Rev. Josh Bennett officiating.
