Jane M Ross

January 11, 1926 — July 27, 2016

Jane M Ross

On Wednesday, July 27 at 4:05 p.m., Jane Miller Ross passed from this world to the next to be with her Lord in Heaven.  She made the passage in the same manner in which she lived her life of more than ninety years here on Earth, with grace and dignity and, always, with a grateful heart. She will be missed so much, but those of us who loved her find peace knowing that we will be together again some day.

She was born in Canton Georgia January 11, 1926 to Stephen Grady Miller and Birdie Bryan Miller.  Jane grew up in Young Harris, Georgia and graduated from LaGrange College. She

married William Ezekiel ("Red") Ross and they had three children. In 1957 she moved with her husband and children to Oregon, where they lived for thirteen years. Jane and her husband lived more than twenty years in Birmingham, Alabama and for seven of those years Jane was a teacher at Tuggle School. Jane and her husband retired to Young Harris, their childhood home.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, William Ezekiel Ross and her son, William Lee Ross.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Steve Newcome of Peachtree City, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Terry Rhoads of Denmark, Maine; grandchildren and their spouses, Mary Rhoads and Brian Ricks , Vanessa and Bharat Moorthy, and Matt and Sarah Newcome; her brother and sister-in-law Zell and Shirley Miller; three nephews, Murphy Miller, Matt Miller, Ricky Spiva  and one niece, Becky Cook.
