Jane Lee Barrett

Jane Lee Barrett, age 82, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 5, 1944, to the late Kenneth and Pearl (Triplet) Jackson.

Jane met her husband at the age of 17 when he moved to Chicago for work. The two married one year later, beginning a beautiful life together. She was a loving and devoted wife and remained devoted to her husband for 61 years until his passing in 2024.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She was a Christian who loved the Lord. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching wrestling and her soap operas on television, shopping, and going out to eat. Jane was beautiful inside and out, and she couldn’t go on an outing without someone telling her so. She was sweet, funny, and loving to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Pearl Jackson; her husband, Odis Barrett; and sisters, Jean Jackson and Ruth Borowski.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Bobby Durham and Belinda and Mike Weygant; son, Steven Barrett; grandchildren, Donnie Ledford and Jason Finch; ten great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
