James Henry Buchanan

Mr. James Henry Buchanan, age 81 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away on Friday, April 03, 2015 at North East Georgia Medical Center. He was born to the late Henry and Elzia (Watson) Buchanan on January 20, 1934 in Hayesville, NC. James was a loving husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife, Della Mae Buchanan of Hiawassee, GA; son, Robert Buchanan of Hiawassee, GA; brother and sister-in-law, L.D. and Irene Buchanan of Blairsville, GA and a number of nieces, nephews also survive. James was preceded in death by sisters, Lillie Lunsford, Faye Davenport, Opal Ledford, Joyce Grant and Esta Berrong also his brother, Cecil Buchanan. Funeral services were held at Banister Funeral Home chapel on Sunday, April 05, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Glenville Nichols officiating. Music was provided by Nola Jean Nichols. Pallbearers were Roy Matheson, James Cowart, Leon Berrong, Jimmy Wright, David Brown and David Davenport. Honorary pallbearers were Logan and Hunter Quinton. Interment was at Laurel Hills Memory Gardens cemetery. The family received friends Saturday, April 04, 2015 from 6-9 P.M. at Banister Funeral Home. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
