James R Ballard

Mr. James Robert Ballard, age 72 of Young Harris, GA passed away on January 11, 2008 following a period of declining health. He was born to the late Fred and Beulah (Shuler) Ballard on April 25, 1935 in Union County, GA. He is survived by a special companion, Faye Kirby, of Young Harris, GA; daughters, Shirlee Eller, of Hiawassee, GA; Sandra Mai and Shelby Ballard, both of Gainesville, GA; son, James Lee Ballard, of Gainesville, GA; step-son, Terry Kirby, of Young Harris, GA; brother, Bill Hunnicut, of Hayesville, NC; sisters, Ruby Rhinehardt, of Young Harris, GA; Ruth Rogers, of Marble, NC; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Ballard were held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Bill Dyer officiating. The following men served as pallbearers: Dennis Lee Wheeler, Joseph Maney, Tom Mai, Kevin Sutton, Terry Kirby and Ashley Eller. Music was provided by Ashley Eller and Ray Eller. Interment was in Old Union Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
