Ina "Inez" Townsend

Mrs. Ina Inez (Kuykendoll) Townsend, age 92 passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 following a period of declining health. She was born to the late Alfred and Maggie (Henson) Kuykendoll on October 12, 1921 in Young Harris, GA in a log cabin on the side of the former EMC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Evans Townsend, son, Reggie Townsend, daughter, Kathy Prather, granddaughter, Kimberly Clayton, great granddaughter, Gracie Lovell and all six brothers and all five sisters. She is survived by her daughters JoAnn, Beverly (Gerald), and Patricia, all of Young Harris, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Gerald Messer, of Young Harris, GA; Patricia Clayton, of Young Harris, GA; sisters-in-law, Eva Kuykendoll and Roberta Hooper; grandchildren, Angie (Robbie) Graper, April Townsend, both of Young Harris, GA; Ray (Tammy) Townsend, of Blairsville, GA; Gary (Jamie) Clayton, of Marietta, GA; great grandchildren, Jordan and Jack Clayton, of Marietta, GA; Corbin Townsend and Brody Graper, both of Young Harris, GA and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Stiles and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Music was provided by the Gribble Family. Pallbearers were: Gary Clayton, Robbie Graper, Ray Townsend, Jordan Clayton, Jack Clayton, Brody Graper and Corbin Townsend. Interment was in Old Brasstown Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
