Imogene Holmes Turpin

Imogene Turpin passed away Saturday morning, September 12, 2026, at the age of 89. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Nicholson (Royce); sons Matt (Elaina) and Chris (Kellie); as well as 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members. Imogene's parents, Truman and Stella Holmes, and her siblings Bill, Steve, Max, Anne Edwards, Gertie Mae Layson, and Gerald, preceded her in death.

Born in Hiawassee, Georgia, Imogene was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hiawassee.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 14, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, at Calvary Baptist Church.

Flowers are accepted but in lieu of flowers donations in Imogene's memory can be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund
