Henry Hedden

Mr. Henry Hedden age 89 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on December 05, 2011 in Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following a period of declining health. He was born to the late Carl and Pearl (Puett) Hedden on September 21, 1922 in Hiawassee, GA. He was a member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Towns County Lions Club and Retired Teachers Association for many years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Paul Gourley, of Dahlonega, GA; son, Donald Henry Hedden and husband Lou Wilcott, of Seattle, WA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Margaret Hedden, of Hiawassee, GA; Bob and Pat Hedden, of Acworth, GA; two granddaughters, Emmalyn and Henrietta Dyer; one great granddaughter, Kayleigh Dyer; two step-granddaughters, Yvonne and Valerie Gourley; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 09, 2011 at 1:00 from Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church in Young Harris, GA, with Rev. Darris Baker and Rev. David Tinsley officiating. Music was provided by Terry Hooper, Debbie Smith and Ruth Strickland. Pallbearers were: Billy Nicholson, Ralph Mills, Greg Smith, Jeff Hedden, Jim Barker, Brian Hedden, Josh Hedden and Jerry Nichols. Interment was in Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
