Mrs. Helen Beatrice Helms Link, affectionately known as “Bea” entered into rest on Sunday, the 12th of March, 2023, at Magnolia Estates Assisted Living in Elberton, GA at the age of 91.
A longtime resident of Gaston County, NC, Helen Beatrice Helms was born on the 24th of July, 1931, to Taft Bartley Helms and Myrtle Jennie Rhodes Helms. She moved from Mt. Holly, NC to Royston, GA in November 2018 to be closer to her family. Bea and her husband, Archie, were members of Covenant United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC for many years, and she attended Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Holly, NC after his death. She was a member of the Red Hats Society, and enjoyed spending her time shopping, gardening, and especially talking with her friends.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robley Russell “Archie” Link; daughter, Sandra Dean Link McCall; daughter-in-law, Dorathy Stewart Link; and siblings: Dorothy Manes, Bob Helms, and Bill Helms.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Randy R. Link, Sr. and his wife Sarah of Young Harris, GA: grandchildren: Richard McCall and his wife Julie of Mooresville, NC, Harriet Link Rider and her husband Josh of Elberton, GA, and Rusty Link and his wife Britani of Hartwell, GA; great-grandchildren: Aiden McCall, Jase Rider, Raegan Link, and Knox Rider; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Bea Link will be held on Thursday, the 16th of March, 2023, at 11 o’clock in the morning in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mt. Holly, NC 28120. The Rev. Eddie Wiggins will officiate.
Flowers are accepted and should be delivered to Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery on the day of the service. If desired, contributions may be made in her memory to Covenant United Methodist Church, 6824 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, NC 28214.
