Hazel Mae Nicholson

Hazel Mae Nicholson, age 82 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away on Friday, May 08, 2015. She was born to the late Tom and Oma (Long) Mason on March 10, 1933 in Hayesville, NC. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susie and Bobby McNabb of Hiawassee, GA; daughter Brenda Gibson of Hiawassee, GA; brother, Bill Mason of Hayesville, NC; sisters, Helen Nichols of Hiawassee, GA and Ruth Mason of Hayesville, NC; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Hazel was preceded in death by her son, Sammy Nicholson and brothers, Frank Mason, Charles Mason and Jack Mason. Funeral services were held from the chapel at Banister Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Pallbearers were Bobby McNabb, Jason McNabb, Steven Warren, Ricky Seabolt, Amos Kerby and James Prescott. Interment was at Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. The family received friends Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Banister Funeral Home. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
