Gregory Lee Mills

Gregory Lee Mills, age 65, of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gregory was born May 16, 1960, in Murphy, North Carolina, to Ernest and Kathryn Mills. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Mills Jr. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Susan Mills; daughter, Tiah Bialik (Brent); sons, Eric Barrett (Angela) Casey Barrett (Brandi); his mother, Kathryn Mills; grandchildren, Amaria Barnes (Joe), Anna Barrett, Alex Barrett, Peyton Barrett, Jubilee Barrett, Zoey Barrett, Jaden Kemp, Marley Barrett, and Gideon Barrett; great grandchild, Malerie Barnes; brothers, Keith (Debbie) Mills, Doug (Diane) Mills; sisters, Debbie (Larry) Ledford, Sheri Mills, Pam LeVan; several nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers: Odin Rice, Jackson Hall, David Hall, Alex Barrett, Peyton Barrett, Tripp Ledford

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.

Funeral: Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 2:00pm at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Tipton and John Prater officiating. 

Interment will follow at Burch Cemetery.

 Greg proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a time in his life that reflected his strong sense of duty and dedication. He enjoyed watching football, golf, NASCAR, going fishing, and working on new projects as a builder, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was hardworking and always dependable. He dedicated his life to caring for those he loved and will be deeply missed. His love, laughter, and the many memories he created with his family will continue to live on through them.
