Gladys M. Savage

Mrs. Gladys M. Savage, age 71 of Hiawassee, GA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Northeast GA Medical Center. She was stricken with an aortic dissection in her home on Monday morning. She was born to Ben Beaver and Louise (Johnson)Beaver  on January 04, 1941 in Akron, OH. She was a member of Union General Hospital Auxillary, Hiawassee United Methodist Church, was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the Church Choir, Food Pantry, and a Mentor at Towns County School. She was employed with Marvin L. Walker & Associates for the last forty years. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Bob Savage, of Hiawassee, GA; mother, Louise Treitlager; daughter, Lisa Kelley, of Lakeland, FL; step-daughter, Jennifer Goedken, of Katy, TX; step-sons, Mark Savage, of Houston, TX; Matthew Savage, of Denver. CO; brothers, Fred Beaver, of Akron, OH; Don Treitlager, also of Akron, OH; sisters, Linda Bennett, of Akron, OH; Wanda Jensen, of Akron, OH; granddaughter, Lesli Leighton, step-grandchildren, Evan and Jenna Goedken, Addison and Tristan Savage, great grandchildren, Seth and Mason Leighton. Memorial services were held on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 2:00PM from Hiawassee United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Blair officiating. Music was provided by Hope Huckabee. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements. This is a corrected copy of the original obituary.
