Frances Marie Smith

Mrs. Frances Marie Smith, age 79, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 following a brief illness. Frances was born on June 7, 1939 in Niagara Falls, New York to the late Paul and Ethel (Reist) Wustrack. Frances was a member of the Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She also spent time singing with the Mountain Community Chorus and was a volunteer with the Union County Auxiliary. She lived her life like a work of art and aimed to make the world a more beautiful place. She was humble, faithful, gracious, and a beautiful person. Frances was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Every year she would use her talents in gardening to landscape the yard perfectly, for all to enjoy. After high school Frances attended Rochester University in New York where she earned her Bachelor's degree becoming a Registered Nurse. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul N. Kirby. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry D. Smith of Hiawassee, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Kirby of Hayesville, North Carolina; granddaughter, Danielle Kirby of Hayesville, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Alanna Wustrack of Lewiston, New York; step-sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lisa Smith and Stephen and Lynn Smith; step grandchildren, Ashlyn, Meghan and Stephen Smith; several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Memorial Service: Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2:00PM at Sharp United Methodist Church, Young Harris Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
