Esta Estella Berrong

Mrs. Esta Estella (Buchanan) Berrong, age 81 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on November 05, 2013 following a brief illness. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.She was the Upper Hightower Baptist Church Treasurer for twenty-five to thirty years. She was preceded in death by Cecil Buchanan, Opal Ledford, Lilly Lunsford, Joyce Grant and Faye Buchanan. She was born to the late Henry and Elza Pearl (Watson) Buchanan on December 11, 1931 in Hayesville, NC. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Leon Berrong, of Hiawassee, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Wilda and Rex Hogsed, of Hiawassee, GA and Joyce-Ann and Dwayne Beck, also of Hiawassee, GA; son, Bruce Edward Berrong, of Hiawassee, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and DellaMae Buchanan, of Hiawassee, GA; L.D. and Irene Buchanan, of Blairsville, GA; six grandchildren, Rebecca Penland, Edward Berrong, Aaron Beck, Samantha Reynolds, Joshua Berrong and Zackary Hogsed. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Tinly Berrong and Joshua Berrong, step-grand children, Debra Garrett, LeAnn Dean and Billy Dean and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral services were held on Friday, November 08, 2013 at 2:00PM from Upper Hightower Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hogsed officiating. Pallbearers were: Edward Berrong, Joshua Berrong, Allen Davenport, Zackary Hogsed, Howard Beck and DeWitt Berrong. Music was provided by Tiffany Winkler. Interment was in Upper Hightower Baptist Church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
