Ellen June Holcomb

Ellen June Holcomb, age 95 of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026 surrounded by her family. Ellen was born June 18, 1931 to the late William Newton and Katie Jane (Mauldin) Osborn in Hiawassee, Georgia. She was a member of Enotah Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, gardening, and canning. She worked at Orbit and Carolina dress for many years and later worked at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in the quilting booth. She was the last remaining Osborn out of three brothers, three sisters, two step-sisters, one step-brother. Her family was her world and she loved spending time with all of them and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Bill" Holcomb; daughter, Judy Kaye Holcomb. She is survived by her sons, Garry (Rita) Holcomb, Larry Holcomb (Mary); grandchildren, Heidi Holcomb, Kevin (Kayla) Holcomb, Mandy (Craig) Sosebee, Diana (Jerry) Ehrenkaufer; great-grandchildren, Dalton Holcomb, Dakota Shelton, Hunter Rhea, Daylen Sosebee, Bryce Sosebee, Eden Sosebee, Knox Holcomb, Harper Ehrenkaufer.

Pallbearers: Craig Sosebee, Daylen Sosebee, Bryce Sosebee, Kevin Holcomb, Dalton Holcomb, Dakota Shelton

Visitation: Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home from 12:00-3:00pm.

Funeral Service: Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home at 3:00pm with Rev. Dennis Miles officiating.
