Dorothy Louise Mathis

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Mathis, age 73 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on November 14, 2012 following a period of declining health. She was born to the late Jack and Edna (Sparks) Shook, Sr. on December 14, 1938 in Hiawassee, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Edna Shook, Cecil Shook, J.C. Shook, Mae Silvey, Glen Blankenship and Virginia Shook. She is survived by daughter, Julie Mathis, of Hiawassee, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff Mathis, of Hiawassee, GA; Doug and Shirley Mathis, of Young Harris, GA; Randall and Belinda Mathis, of Young Harris, GA; brother, George Shook, of Young Harris, GA; sister, Polly Green, of Norcross, GA; eight grandchildren, nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services are being held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Mathis and Rev. Mark Shook officiating. Interment will be in Burch cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
