Dorothy Jane Lusk

Dorothy Jane Lusk, age 88 of Young Harris, Georgia passed away Friday, March 13, 2026. Dorothy was born August 9, 1937 to the late Homer and Essie (Kuykendoll) Hood in Young Harris, Georgia. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a faithful online listener of Old Union Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star for many years. She loved nature, just sitting out on the porch and watching the wildlife was one of her favorite things. She was funny, mischievous, and loved to cut up with people. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louie Lusk; son, Ricky Shook; grandson, Jerrod Shook; brothers, Jerry Hood, Johnny Hood. She is survived by her daughters, Myra (Charles) Tallent, Becky (John) Mullins; brother, Buddy Hood; sister, Linda King; grandchildren, Josh Shook, Brandon Tallent, Christy Tallent, Stephanie Spiva, Ryan Tallent, Maggie Lusk, Kyra Tallent, James Mullins, Jake Mullins, Alex Mullins, Zach Mullins; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Monday, March 16, 2026 at Old Union Baptist Church from 12:00-2:00pm.

Funeral: Monday, March 16, 2026 at Old Union Baptist Church at 2:00pm with Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating.
